The ‘four bearded lock’ …

This ‘Bodenpanzer’ four bearded lock is something special too.
According to Oli it is one of the most secure safe locks ever made,
and one of the Nazi’s favorite high security locks.

bodenpanzer four bearded lock

It is a pretty rare and unique lock, and for a key alone people pay hundreds
of dollars on e-bay. And it is not an item you will see there often.

This blackbag video will shed some light on the lock an its inner working…

    Dear Oli,

It’s a wonderfull lock i have once seen two keys on ebay and they went for about € 300 just two keys. Altough i think the’re worth every penny.
I think i will ask for such a lock with christmas maybe i will get lucky like barry last christmas. I must say the closet we’re you got the dismantled lock from looks like i has got some nice locks too.

I’m curious. You specify best “commercially” produced safe lock. Are there higher security locks being produced non-commercially?

Hey Barry, the post says the Video is supposed to be 38 megs. Ive downloaded it a couple of times not, and it says its 11.9 megs. Is it just a typo, or is the video corrupted?

For everybody, who wants to see besides a four bitted lock, a three bitted one – have a look at

    http://tresoroeffnung.de/downloads/CerberusSchl%fcssel/

I like the name as Cerberus was the three headed dog guarding the hell entrance – isn´t that nice !?
I have no idea who the producer was – any input welcome – I got it without key and made one for it. It was by far not so complicated as making one for a Bode Panzer “Tangential” ( the four bitted one )

    nice lock – thanks oli

FWIW Cerberus aka Kerberos is also the name of a public key based authentication mechanism in digital information systems.

Would non commercial locks include ‘masterpiece’ and exhibition locks like the bramah challenge lock?

Anyone here impressioned or picked a modern Bramah lock BTW? got any video??

    That things awesome looking.

I’d guess “non-commercial locks” would be government locks, like those used in prisons.
