Me on BNR radio today

Some security company is big in the news here today. They hired a marketing company to do a security audit to prove hospitals need better security … even against terrorist threats.

Business news radio asked if I would be interested in talking with the director of the company on the radio. Of course I was interested and I think it turned out pretty well (8 minutes of streaming audio in Dutch).

Ah yes, let’s market fear as best we can, and to as many people, institutions, facilities and the media. It’s always good for business to have people far more frightened than they need be. Wish I spoke Dutch – I would have enjoyed hearing your perceptions on the subject.

One of my jobs is security in a hospital, the management team is working out plans for a tighter security.

everybody who works in the hospital has a facilitycard,it used to be a rule to wear it,then it appeared no one did, they let them,we can,t force our employees to wear them,blabla…..sigh……

Another example…a guy walks out the hospital with a jerrycan with liquid inside, there is no protocol written yet to stop this person to ask what,s inside….again…sigh…

My manager claims they are more aware of these kind of things since they went to a workshop AWARENESS….

Next year january it will all be written down in solid protocols….but until then…..yeah…..SIGH………

I know a hospital that uses the old Winhaus blue-chip cylinder we know what can happen if you use those?????
They did not change them for the new type, no money was there answer.

Just a comment from an expert.

I thought you did a great job commenting on their research. But can’t really figure out why they called you in the first place. The segment has hardly anything to do with locks, let alone getting around their security?¿

    just my €0.02

    Mooi verhaal!
mijn en dijn blijft een hoog goed, altijd weer door de (semi)overheidsinstelling af te wegen tegen de veiligheidsrisico’s. Net zo hoog blijft het goed als integriteit van een commercieel beveiligingsbedrijf!

off topic but I hope those who see it will appreciate this,
on lockpicking101.com in the section “locks” BIGOREX has posted some links to videos about the “padlocks of Manuel Guerra”
I think people here will appreciate them enough to forgive going off topic.
