And the news he brought came as a shock. A shock to us and a<br \/>\nshock to the public. He announced all SDU newvote voting computers are<br \/>\nbanned for elections as of now! The reason for this is that the<br \/>\nscreens of these devices leak radio signals, strong enough so anybody<br \/>\nwith a simple receiver and readily available tools can reconstruct<br \/>\nwhat parties people vote on. And this signal is strong enough to be<br \/>\nreceived tens of meters away!<\/p>\n<p>We <a title=\"CDA detector\" href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=B05wPomCjEY\">already showed<\/a> that the other voting computers (Nedap) also<br \/>\nleaks radio signals, and we could identify from\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0that if someone voted<br \/>\nfor the Christen Democrates or some other party. But with SDU newvote<br \/>\nthings seem even worse. The end result is that the minister banned the<br \/>\nSDU Voting computers and in Amsterdam where I live we will now vote<br \/>\nwith our trusworthy paper and pencil. This is an unbelievable success and<br \/>\ndominated the Dutch news today. All news programs had it as their<br \/>\nfirst item, and the complete country is in shock.
