Kwikset Smart Key Decoder by Shane Lawson

Kwikset Smart Key Decoder – Shane Lawson from Deviant Ollam on Vimeo.

Building a decoder for the Kwikset Smartkey lock for around US$ 5.00

Not bad for a couple of fools 🙂

* update: Steffen saved the video file and even upgraded the quality quite a bit.

By far the nicest way to show manufacturers how cheap one can bypass their lockdesign, cheap and simple!;-)

You know, it would be nice if this video was in a format where it could be downloaded and converted from a mp4 format so something the rest of us could view.

As it is, damn Vimeo crashed my computer twice.

I don’t know what OS you are using, but in Linux mp4 files open almost out-of-the-box. In Windows I would try VLC Media Player, haven’t come across a format which it would not play 🙂

    Hy Murphy,
the SSDeV (German Lockpicking Foundation – foundet 1997) will be grab
all importend Videos out of the Network, for the Internal Archive.

If we got no good Quality, we optimize the Sources by “Hollywood-OS” 🙂

The mentionet Video is temporally available
(to end of May09 or a veto by the owner) here:

I have the dvd of my talk if you want me to post it somewhere for an archive.

I showed Barry and Han the prototype for this last year in Las Vegas. Hopefully we will have a few more creative designs to show at HAR.
